I don’t often encounter other Filipinos in academia…I had no idea how my story would be interpreted by trainees, and am so happy to hear about positive responses. I’ve grown more and more aware of how culture and identity influences even the professional choices we make, and to hopefully give others some confidence (which I lacked!) is a wonderful feeling.
